FILLING THE VOID

Going around the city you will notice the beauty of its structures and large brick buildings. Spokane is growing in the arts, having many emerging artists pushing their craft and contributing to developing this city’s visual identity. One media, in particular, has been growing in the last 5 years with many artists popularizing mural painting as a way to provide color and revitalize the overall scenery for this town. Even when murals are growing and their quality improving, they have been limited to underpasses and private walls leaving many large canvases inactive.

This project seeks to show the vision of one artist imagining an alternate reality to some of these vacant surfaces full of potential that could be activated, changing the way we see our city.

With the help of my photographer friend, Laree Weaver, we documented ideal walls in popular areas where I decided to paint some dream compositions.

This is my vision for Spokane.
