CASAS DE CARTÓN / CARDBOARD HOUSES (2016)
Based on Venezuelan songwriter and singer Ali Primera's piece "Techos de Carton" released in 1947.
This piece is an installation that plays with the fragile structures of tiny places that many called home. The structures in their inside keep a warm atmosphere represented by the candle which symbolizes the love and care needed for a family to grow even in precarious circumstances. A projection from these candles illustrates the continuation of the barrio around the room where it resides.
